About the Role
OpenZeppelin is seeking an AI Operations Engineer to join its AI Operations team. The team builds AI-powered workflows, agents, scheduled tasks, and internal automation tools used across the company.
You will work with different business units to identify opportunities for AI automation, build and maintain workflows, improve automation performance, and contribute to the development of the company’s internal AI automation framework.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with business teams to identify processes suitable for AI automation.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain AI workflows, agents, and scheduled tasks.
• Monitor automation performance and improve workflows where needed.
• Contribute to the internal AI automation framework through feature requests, bug reports, code contributions, and peer reviews.
• Apply prompt engineering, context engineering, tool use, and related AI development techniques.
• Run training sessions on applied AI topics, including agent design and prompt/context engineering.
• Create internal documentation, guides, workflow specifications, and knowledge bases.
• Follow security-first practices when designing and deploying autonomous AI agents.
Requirements
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience building applied AI systems.
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, context engineering, prompt caching, tool use, progressive disclosure, agents, skills, MCP servers, and agent harnesses.
• Experience working with LLM provider APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter.
• TypeScript development experience.
• Strong Git and GitHub skills, including branches, pull requests, code reviews, and repository management.
• Ability to work with Markdown-based systems, workflow specifications, agent definitions, skills, and knowledge bases.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical teams.
• Strong security mindset when designing AI-powered automation.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Superpowers, or Spec Kit.
• Knowledge of spec-driven development or RPI methodologies.
• Experience conducting LLM evaluations, benchmarks, regression testing, or prompt evaluations.
• Experience working independently in a remote environment.
