AWS Tech Lead, Platform Operations at Supabase

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Tech Lead to join our Platform Operations team. In this role, you will define and evolve the foundation of our AWS cloud environment, ensuring it is secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and consistent across engineering teams.

You will lead the design and governance of cloud architecture, build reusable infrastructure standards, and partner closely with Security and FinOps teams to ensure operational excellence across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, async-first environments and enjoys building robust platform systems that empower engineering teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and improve AWS organizational architecture (AWS Organizations, SCPs, IAM, SSO)
• Design and enforce infrastructure standards, patterns, and best practices across teams
• Implement preventive and detective security controls across AWS environments in collaboration with Security teams
• Drive cloud cost visibility, governance, and accountability in partnership with FinOps
• Build and maintain scalable Infrastructure-as-Code solutions (Pulumi, Terraform)
• Support Kubernetes-based infrastructure and platform reliability initiatives
• Enable engineering teams to operate efficiently through self-service and platform tooling

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in AWS architecture and Infrastructure-as-Code
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or Architect)
• Strong experience with AWS cloud foundations and governance at scale
• Proficiency with Pulumi (TypeScript), Terraform, and Kubernetes
• Experience in distributed or async-first engineering teams
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in developer platform or infrastructure teams
• Background in FinOps or cloud cost optimization
• Exposure to open-source or developer tooling ecosystems
