Role Overview

We are seeking a Group Sanctions & Compliance Specialist to support and strengthen our global compliance framework. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining robust sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) controls.

You will collaborate across teams, provide expert guidance on compliance matters, and help ensure Remote’s operations meet regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with global sanctions, AML, and CFT regulations
  • Identify compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Act as a second-line escalation point for onboarding and transaction monitoring teams
  • Conduct and support AML/CFT risk assessments across the organization
  • Develop and maintain policies on

Customer Due Diligence (CDD) & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)

Transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting

Sanctions screening and fraud prevention

Anti-bribery and corruption

  • Coordinate internal and external compliance audits
  • Monitor regulatory developments and update internal processes accordingly
  • Deliver training and guidance on compliance best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in compliance, preferably in fintech or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of AML, CFT, and sanctions regulations (UK, EU, US, or Canada preferred)
  • Experience in second-line compliance roles (first-line experience is a plus)
  • Relevant AML or compliance certifications
  • Familiarity with automation and AI-driven compliance tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience working remotely is an advantage
