Platform Engineer at Supabase

About the Role

Supabase is seeking a Platform Engineer Multicloud to join our Compute Team. In this role, you will help design and build cloud-portable infrastructure that enables workloads to run seamlessly across multiple cloud providers and colocated environments.

You will collaborate closely with product and infrastructure teams to identify cloud-specific dependencies, define abstraction layers, and contribute to the evolution of Supabase’s Kubernetes-based platform. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges in fast-moving, distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit existing infrastructure to identify cloud-specific dependencies and define a structured migration backlog
• Design and implement cloud-agnostic abstractions across compute, networking, and storage layers
• Maintain and enhance Kubernetes-based orchestration for multi-cloud portability
• Collaborate with platform and product teams to ensure portability is built into new systems by design
• Contribute to architectural decisions for cloud and colocated infrastructure strategies
• Improve reliability, scalability, and consistency across distributed environments

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in platform engineering or infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi (or equivalents like Terraform)
• Exposure to cloud abstraction, migration, or re-platforming initiatives
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in async, distributed, or remote-first teams
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments
