About the Role
Eqvilent is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to design, operate, and optimize high-performance storage infrastructure powering a high-frequency trading (HFT) environment. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems that support data-intensive workloads across multiple global data centers.
You will take ownership of storage systems that directly impact business productivity, cost efficiency, and operational stability. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure storage systems are highly reliable, scalable, and performance-optimized
- Own and improve storage performance, stability, and availability
- Design and implement data placement, resiliency, and lifecycle strategies
- Maintain predictable system behavior during failures, scaling, and maintenance events
- Integrate storage with compute environments (e.g., Kubernetes, GPU/HPC workloads, data pipelines)
- Lead incident detection, troubleshooting, and root cause resolution
- Improve capacity planning to prevent performance bottlenecks and emergency scaling
- Build and enhance automation, monitoring, and operational tooling
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience managing large-scale storage systems (distributed or vendor-based)
- Strong expertise in Linux systems and storage performance tuning
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
- Experience with automation and system reliability best practices
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for critical systems
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed or high-performance storage systems
- Knowledge of high-throughput networking environments
- Background in high-availability industries (e.g., finance, HFT)
