About the Role

Supabase is looking for a talented Design Engineer to own the design and development of its marketing and documentation websites. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine exceptional design skills with front-end engineering expertise to create engaging, high-performing web experiences.

You’ll take projects from concept to deployment, continuously improving the user experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and user experience of Supabase’s marketing website, documentation site, Launch Week pages, and other web properties.
• Identify usability issues and continuously improve website performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Documentation teams to create clear, engaging, and developer-friendly content.
• Design visually appealing layouts, typography, diagrams, code blocks, and illustrations.
• Build and deploy production-ready web pages using React, Next.js, Vite, and modern front-end technologies.
• Maintain and improve reusable design systems and UI components.
• Refine technical messaging and visual assets to improve clarity.
• Take initiative by identifying opportunities for improvement and independently delivering solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Design Engineer, UI Engineer, Front-End Developer, or similar role.
• Strong design skills with proficiency in Figma.
• Excellent front-end development skills using React, Next.js, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and component libraries such as shadcn, Radix UI, or Base UI.
• Experience designing products for developers, technical users, SaaS, AI, crypto, or technology companies.
• Comfortable using AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar for prototyping and development.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, typography, accessibility, and user experience best practices.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous team.
• Passion for building personal projects and continuously learning new technologies.
